Everything you need to know about Fotona and laser hair removal
Our high-performance Nd:YAG laser systems by Fotona have introduced new standards of efficiency in providing safe and effective hair reduction – using an innovative system that effectively targets hair follicles with a combination of selective and homogenous photothermolysis.
Our lasers by Fotona incorporate revolutionary pulse-control technology and a proprietary three-dimensional treatment pattern (FRAC3®) to provide safe and effective hair reduction. Unlike other wavelengths, only Nd:YAG is safe to use on all skin types. Fotona’s innovative system effectively targets surface treatment areas while leaving surrounding tissues unaffected.

We use Fotona Technology which is a medical grade laser and is known to be the best for hair removal treatments. This Machine is both TGA and FDA approved for Hair reduction treatments in most skin types.
Laser is an acronym that stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. What it means in pain terms is that it is a specific wavelength of light that is being generated by stimulating the light particle and emitting it in a very precise fashion to achieve different effects. Laser can be used to treat a number of skin conditions including pigments, redness, veins and hair reduction
The mode of action of LASER is known as selective photothermolysis. The heat produced by the different wavelength of LASER causes selective destruction of different structures namely hair follicle, pigments/melanin, bloods and vessels etc.
Depending on your skin type and hair thickness you may require 6-12 treatments. The treatments are generally spaced 4-8 weeks.
You need to shave the area 24 hours before your appointment. It is mandatory and without shaving, we are unable to treat the area. If you prefer to have the shaving done by us then a small fee may apply.
It is not recommended to not have sun exposure, tanning, solariums and fake tans at least 4 weeks prior to your treatment .
It is not recommended to wax, pluck, or remove hair by the roots, as the root must remain in the follicle in order for laser treatment to be effective.
Please do not use deodorant and moisturiser before treatment so that your skin is clean and ready for treatment.
Please inform us before your treatment of any medication you are taking.
Please feel free to talk to our experienced Laser therapist for more information.
